Job Title: Project Procurement Lead – Global Biopharmaceutical
Contract: 12 months
Location: Reading
Salary: £85.89 per hour via Umbrella
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
The Project Procurement Lead manages procurement activities for assigned investment projects and coordinates planning and execution at the Reading site. The Project Procurement Lead holds strategic responsibility for procurement of goods & services for the construction of manufacturing, laboratory & office facilities for projects of values between £5 million and £500 million.
Key Responsibilities will include:
* Development of Procurement Execution Strategy and coordination of procurement activities for assigned investment projects.
* End-to-end commercial ownership of procurement, expediting, contract management & closeout of contracts for;
* Goods: Process equipment, electrical equipment, AHU’s, black utilities pumps & valves, lab equipment, furniture, consumables, pumps & automation systems and spare parts for above
* Services such as: Construction, piping, HVAC, electrical & cleanroom fit-out, consulting, engineering and planning
* Active management of the Procurement Master Plan (PMP) during project execution to ensure timely project reporting, identification & mitigation of risks
* Close collaboration with a multitude of stakeholders such as:
* Procurement team (category owners, buyers, order managers & contract managers)
* Lonza procurement management & category management
* Project Director or Managers, engineers & subject matter experts dedicated to projects
* Support functions such as Quality, EHS, Legal, Finance, HR etc.
* Key third party collaborators including EPCM, EPC or main trade or equipment suppliers
Candidate Requirements:
* Capex project / procurement management > 10 y, pharma / biotech sectors an advantage
* Experience in plant construction as well as in the areas of procurement, sales, contract Languages: Required: English fluent; Advantage: German
* Team player with ability to communicate & work efficiently in matrix organizations and interdisciplinary teams
* Excellent business mindset, strategic, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
* Initiative and resilience – ability to work in an exciting, ever changing environment
* Technical training (ETH or FH) or similar in process, chemical, mechanical, civil or plant engineering an advantage
