Overview
The Environment Agency is committed to an inclusive workforce reflecting the communities it serves. This role sits in the Transformation Portfolio Management Office (PMO) within the Strategy, Transformation and Assurance directorate. The PMO focuses on creating a centralised portfolio to drive change, transformation and continuous improvement. We are looking for two Benefits and Efficiencies Analysts to join the team.
You will help shape and optimise project portfolios, ensure strategic alignment, enhance decision-making and provide evidence to manage risk across change and transformation. This is a hands-on opportunity with development support from your team and peers. You will analyse data from PMO colleagues and project/programme managers across the portfolio, set standards for benefits and value management, and support embedding them. You will help teams identify, value and validate their project benefits.
Responsibilities
* Analyse data from PMO colleagues and project/programme managers to shape and optimise the portfolio.
* Set standards for benefits and value management and support embedding them across projects.
* Identify, value and validate project benefits to support decision-making and risk management.
* Collaborate across organisational boundaries and build constructive relationships.
* Produce guidance, toolkits or frameworks to support colleagues.
* Contribute to changing and improving business processes through data-informed insights.
Experience and Qualifications
* Strong analytical skills with proven experience as a Benefits Analyst, Efficiencies Analyst, or Business Analyst.
* Experience building and maintaining dashboards or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or advanced Excel).
* Ability to work collaboratively across organisational boundaries and build relationships.
* Clear communication skills, able to explain complex analysis to non-technical audiences.
* Self-motivation and adaptability, able to work independently and as part of a team.
* Experience producing guidance, toolkits or frameworks to support colleagues.
* Ability to work with diverse backgrounds and encourage consideration of diversity issues in work.
* Willingness to participate in development opportunities and training.
Additional Information
* Location: Hybrid working from EA Office base; national role with flexible location.
* Some travel and overnights may be required; smart tools are used to stay connected and reduce travel.
