Job DescriptionBased at various locations across the city, you will work part time for Dundee City Council Home Care team. We have a mixture of post's, 25 hours or 30 hours and this can be discussed at interview or prior to applying if you require more information.\n \nIf you have any query regarding this vacancy, please contact Morven Ross-bain on 01382 438945 or email morven.ross-bain@dundeecity.gov.ukRequirementsYou will have SVQ2 or ability to undertake training to achieve this award within a specified timeframe.\n \nYou will have the ability to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council within a specified time.ResponsibilitiesYou will assist in maintaining service users in their own homes in the community by attending to their assessed personal and social care needs. You will assist service users and carers in improving the quality of their life.The IndividualYou will have past/present caring experience to a high standard either life or work experience.\n \nYou will have good written/oral communication skills, be able to work as team member and also be able to work alone and to use your own initiative.\n \nYou will have assessment skills and be able to understand and meet the needs of people living in the community.\n \nYou will be able to show sensitivity and understanding in dealing with vulnerable people and be non-judgemental with a caring, pleasant and professional approach and be dependable and have reliable attitude to work.\n \nYou will be required to work a range of shifts, including a split shift, evenings, weekends and occasional nights.\n \nA full, current driving licence is required.\n \nYou will be required to do further study/training.\n \nThis post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
