Overview
Our client, a privately owned real estate development company located just outside Boston, is seeking a Financial Analyst to join its Capital Markets team.
HYBRID role (4 days in office, 1 day remote)
Local candidates only; not open to relocation at this time
This position will work closely with the Director of Capital Markets on a wide range of transactions, including acquisitions, loan refinancing, debt restructuring, and property dispositions. The ideal candidate will have a background in commercial real estate, finance, or investment banking, with hands-on experience in financial modeling and underwriting for income-producing properties.
Responsibilities
* Create and refine detailed financial models in Excel and ARGUS to support deal analysis, portfolio performance reviews, and strategic planning.
* Evaluate potential investment opportunities through scenario analysis, sensitivity testing, and valuation modeling.
* Participate in all phases of the deal process, including market research, due diligence, and closing coordination.
* Prepare presentations, lender packages, and investment reports for internal and external stakeholders.
* Maintain and update underwriting templates and portfolio models to reflect current performance metrics and assumptions.
* Collaborate with colleagues in asset management, development, finance, and leasing to ensure alignment on deal assumptions and project timelines.
* Track active transactions and maintain accurate pipeline reporting to support team decision-making.
* Assist with lender relations, including managing requisition requests for construction draws and ensuring compliance with loan requirements.
* Contribute insights and recommendations to improve investment returns and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related discipline.
* 2–4 years of relevant experience in capital markets, commercial real estate, finance, or investment banking.
* Strong proficiency in Excel and ARGUS, with demonstrated ability to build complex financial models.
* Solid grasp of real estate valuation principles, investment analysis, and capital structuring.
