Support Worker - Children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) Location: Seaford Salary: £90 - £100 per day Contract Type: Temporary (opportunity to become permanent) Start date: Flexible At term time teachers, we are looking for a compassionate and patient Support Worker to work with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will play a vital role in supporting children's development, promoting their independence, and ensuring they are safe. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 or small group support to children with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, communication difficulties, and physical or sensory impairments. Support children with personal care, mobility, feeding, and other daily tasks where necessary. Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment that promotes emotional wellbeing and self-confidence. Use communication tools to support children with speech and language difficulties. Ensure the safeguarding and welfare of all children. Assist with the preparation of learning materials and classroom environments. Essential Criteria: Experience working with children or young people with SEN in an educational, care, or support setting. A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach. Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of individual children. Desirable Criteria: Relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare, Health and Social Care, or Teaching Assistant). Knowledge of specific SEN conditions such as autism, global developmental delay, sensory processing disorders, etc. Experience using visual timetables, sensory strategies, or assistive technologies.
