About the job

We are a boutique consultancy dedicated to the UK real estate sector. With a strong track record of financial and operational due diligence and business integration, we have delivered in excess of 900 due diligence programmes on behalf of the sectors most acquisitive companies, the majority of which with private equity funding


This role would suit an individual working in M&A within the real estate sector, looking to move away from intense corporate to a boutique agency where this role will be fundamental in shaping the future of the company.


This is a full time, permanent position within a small, dedicated team, located in our Harrogate office, although there could be flexibility for the ideal candidate.


What the role involves

Reporting to the MD and working closely with the internal Project Lead and external stakeholders, the M&A Financial Analyst plays an integral and multi-faceted role involving financial due diligence, synergy identification, performance analysis, post-acquisition modelling and value creation advisory.

* Analyse historical financials and performance metrics of acquisition targets.
* Build and maintain financial models, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow forecasts and performance analysis.
* Prepare concise, data-driven diligence papers and summaries.
* Own and lead the financial due diligence process, liaise and manage external advisors, coordinate with internal stakeholders and keep the team appraised of deal progress, issues, dependencies, timing deadlines and deliverability.

· Own and manage a timetabled process of tracking, end-to-end the FDD project status, with clear, robust and succinct reporting to the Managing Director on progress, including risk mitigation and issue resolution proposals.

· Advise on integration strategy.

· Operate with absolute integrity and ensure that fair treatment of acquisitions is at the forefront, and all interactions are conducted in an open and transparent manner.


Key requirements

* ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant ideally minimum 3 years PQE.
* Demonstrable experience in corporate finance, M&A, with buy side experience highly desirable.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Confident in the use of AI and advanced software knowledge such as Alteryx, Power BI and Tableau is a plus.

* Solid financial modelling and experience working with large data sets.
* Strong understanding of financial statements and commercial performance drivers.
* High attention to detail, with effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate financial insights clearly and concisely.
* Highly organised.
* Prior exposure to residential lettings and other property services within the real estate or professional services is advantageous.

* Exceptionally strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to quickly gain trust and build relationships.

· Ability to adapt effectively to managing multiple critical projects simultaneously.
