Materials Handler Double Rotational Shift (Temp to Perm Opportunity) Location: Walsall Agency: I Need Staff Today Limited Pay rate: £12.50 per hour (weekly pay) Shifts: Rotating 06:0014:00 and 14:0022:00 Employment type: Ongoing agency assignment (with potential for permanent placement) About the Role I Need Staff Today Limited are recruiting a dedicated Materials Handler to join a busy plastics manufacturing site in the Walsall area. This role is essential to the smooth running of production, ensuring that all machines receive the correct materials, at the right time, and in the correct condition. This is a hands-on, physical role suited to someone who is reliable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment. Full training is provided, and strong performance may lead to a long-term or permanent role. Key Responsibilities You will be responsible for supporting the production team by ensuring materials are prepared, transported, and supplied efficiently. Duties include: Supplying and topping up ancillary hoppers and bins with the correct grade of material. Performing material changeovers safely and in line with standard operating procedures. Preparing materials using dryers to ensure high-quality and contamination-free supply to machines. Handling, slitting, and pouring bags of material (up to 25kg each) into day bins and loading silos. Moving and organising pallets (approx. 67 pallets per shift). Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards (6S) and preventing spillages or contamination. Labelling, segregating, and safely transporting materials throughout the production area. Reporting material defects promptly to production management. Working collaboratively with production, maintenance, tool fitters, and setters. Candidate Requirements To be considered for this role, you must: Be physically fit and comfortable with regular heavy lifting (up to 25kg). Be able to work the double rotating shift pattern without issues. Have good communication skills and the ability to follow written procedures. Be safety-focused with a positive, proactive attitude. Be able to work independently and manage tasks with limited supervision. Have the right to work in the UK (proof required). Previous experience in materials handling within manufacturing is advantageous but not essential as full training is provided.
