Are you an experienced and passionate childcare professional looking to take the next step in your career? Join Hillingdon’s ‘Outstanding’ Residential Service as a Senior Residential Worker, where you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering high‑quality care and support to children and young people in our homes.
As a Senior Residential Worker, you'll lead by example – managing shifts, supporting junior colleagues and ensuring that care practices align with the Care Standards Act 2000, Children’s Homes Regulations and the home’s Statement of Purpose.
Responsibilities
* Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the home
* Manage admissions and discharges
* Develop and monitor individual care plans
* Maintain a safe, nurturing and well‑run environment
* Liaise effectively with families and external professionals
* Administer medication and manage petty cash
* Ensure policies, procedures and safeguarding standards are upheld
About You
You’re a confident leader with solid experience in residential childcare and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of children and young people.
* Knowledgeable about current legislation, safeguarding and child development
* Ability to guide, mentor and support less experienced staff
* Demonstrate emotional resilience, excellent communication skills and a calm, positive approach
* Organised, dependable and capable of stepping up in the absence of senior management
* Proactive about training and development for yourself and your team
