Assistant Accountant - Bourne - Attractive package
ALH Recruitment are looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant with immediate effect for our client based in Bourne, just north of Peterborough.
Assistant Accountant:
Our client is looking for a proactive and detail-driven Assistant Accountant to join their Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is part-qualified and looking to develop their skills, contribute to continuous improvement, and play a key role in strengthening our financial processes.
Key responsibilities
* Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes
* Support balance sheet reconciliations and journal postings
* Maintain accurate financial records with strong attention to detail
* Carry out purchase ledger and sales ledger duties as required
* Assist with VAT returns and other statutory reporting
* Support system improvements and help streamline financial processes
* Provide general support across the finance team as needed
Essential skills & experience
* Excellent Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, strong formula knowledge)
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Part-qualified in AAT / ACCA / CIMA
* Previous experience in an accounting or finance support role
* A proactive mindset and willingness to improve processes and systems
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
