Ready to make a real difference – and feel good doing it?
At Inspire North, Our Way Leeds Service we believe every young person deserves someone in their corner. Someone who shows up, listens without judgement, and helps them take their next steps with confidence. If that sounds like you, you might be just who we’re looking for.
Working within an Ofsted‑registered service, you’ll support young people aged 16-25, including care leavers and unaccompanied asylum seekers, helping them feel safe, settled and supported as they move towards independent living.
This is hands‑on, people‑focused work, shaped around each young person’s strengths, goals and lived experience. It can be challenging at times, but it’s also incredibly rewarding – especially if you enjoy building real, trusting relationships and being there when it truly matters.
What you’ll do
* Spend time alongside young people, offering 1:1 and group‑based support and practical advice around housing, tenancy management, budgeting and everyday life skills
* Work closely with partner agencies, families and wider support networks to create a strong, joined‑up system of support around each young person
* Champion young people’s voices by encouraging involvement and co‑production, through workshops, feedback and participation opportunities
* Be part of an evening and weekend shift rota, providing calm, consistent support when young people need it most
Your support will help young people to:
* Build confidence and independence at a pace that works for them
* Develop the skills they need to move on successfully
* Feel safe, listened to and believed in
Through your support, you’ll help young people feel more secure, more settled and more hopeful about their future.
Working pattern
This role is 22.5 hours per week, worked across three evenings and one weekend day, on a rota basis. Specific days and shifts will be discussed at interview, taking into account service needs and your availability.
What you’ll bring:
* A genuine passion for working with young people and belief in their potential
* Experience supporting people in housing, social care or youth work settings (paid or voluntary)
* A working knowledge of safeguarding and child protection, with the confidence to put this into practice
* A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes
If you don’t tick every box, that’s okay. If you can do most of what we’re looking for and feel excited about the role, we’d really encourage you to apply — you could be exactly who we need.
