Due to the on-going development of our cardiac services, we are pleased to offer the opportunity for the expansion of our team at Senior Cardiac Physiologist level. We offer a range of non-invasive services, Simple and complex PCI and an Electrophysiology and Device service for a population of 1 million. We have 4 invasive labs – two of which are EP capable and all of which have undergone full refurbishment. Interview Date: 05th February Main duties of the job The successful candidates will be enthusiastic and motivated about improving our cardiac services, providing in-house training and passionate about refining patient centred care. Clinical skills in either cardiac rhythm management, Electrophysiology or PCI are required as detailed in the Job description and person specification. The Royal Bournemouth Hospital is situated in the beautiful county of Dorset and is perfectly positioned between miles of golden sandy beaches and the picturesque New Forest National Park. Integrity is key to our recruitment process Detailed job description and main responsibilities The successful applicant will possess BSc Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or equivalent. The successful applicant will be expected to participate in our 24/7 on-call rota. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria BSc in Cardiac Physiology or BTEC HNC or equivalent. Desirable criteria RCCP registered Experience Essential criteria Relevant and recent experience as a post qualification Cardiac Physiologist. Will be fully competent as an independent practitioner in exercise tolerance testing. Will be fully competent as an independent practitioner in ambulatory ECG / BP analysis. Will have reached independent practitioner level in a minimum of one of the further clinical areas as detailed in the JD Will be training to reach independent practitioner level in a second clinical area as detailed in the JD Must have experience in training and assessment of junior staff Desirable criteria Will have reached independent practitioner level in a second clinical area as detailed in the JD Personal Attributes Essential criteria Will have effective written and verbal communication skills and fully understand the clinical care environment and the needs of patients. Will be able to work as part of a team but be dynamic and self-motivated. Model good behaviour and acceptable ways of communicating and challenge inacceptable behaviour. Be forward thinking and willing to participate and initiate change where appropriate. Knowledge Essential criteria Will be able to assess normal and abnormal investigations and act appropriately. Will know the national guidelines for good practice for each cardiac discipline and be able to apply these appropriately. Desirable criteria Have knowledge of NHS computer management systems including; Tomcat, eDM, eCamis, PACS.
