Grimsby Salvation Army has transformed the original site into a community café with conference and training rooms available for hire. We also have nearby gardens for growing fruit and vegetables, and we're developing a contemplation tea garden to enhance the café experience.
The Salvation Army on Duncombe Street is promoting its café to corps (church) members, the public, and local organisations in Grimsby, highlighting the benefits of our versatile space for community use.
Cup of Joy Café is a light and airy space in our Corps (Church) site. We serve drinks, light lunches and home baking. Everyone is welcome, especially those from the local community. We want to create an environment where people of all ages can come together, share their life experiences, and enjoy each other's company.
The successful candidate will have:
1. Experience of running a catering outlet or hospitality service
2. Knowledge of health and hygiene legislation (training also given)
3. Experience of working with volunteers in a catering setting
4. Ability to present food in an attractive and enticing manner
5. Ability to manage an email communication, ordering of goods, a till and contactless card payment system (training given)
