Overview
We are looking for a committed Pharmacist to join our team at HMP Forest Bank. If successful you will be working with a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals and leading our existing technician workforce. The role will involve the overall daily organisation, planning and co-ordination of all pharmacy services on-site. You will be leading our onsite dispensary and focusing on medicines management over our whole establishment. Responsibilities
* Deliver a pharmacy service at HMP Forest Bank in line with GPhC standards and recommendations outlined in "A pharmacy service for prisoners" and "Safer Prescribing in Prisons".
* Lead the on-site dispensary and coordinate all pharmacy services on-site in collaboration with the Medicines Management Pharmacist, other Spectrum Specialist Prison Pharmacists, Lead GP, other GPs and the prisons.
* Help patients optimise their medicines through a partnership approach, tailoring medicines and support to individual patient needs.
* Identify unmet pharmaceutical need and assist in improving access and service efficiency including a reduction in wasted medicines.
* Encourage the development of better medicines management understanding throughout the wider healthcare team and Prison Team and promote best practice in line with therapeutic developments in prescribing decisions.
* Support the Prison Health Care team in achieving NSF targets, NICE implementation, medicines management initiatives and the introduction of electronic prescribing.
* Uphold Spectrum Community Health’s values and contribute to a values-driven ethos and high standards of patient care and service.
