Investigo are working in partnership with a rapidly growing Coventry-based business to appoint a commercially astute finance professional into a Head of Finance position.
This role is ideally suited to an ambitious Senior Finance Manager looking to step into their first Head of Finance role, offering strong visibility, ownership, and the opportunity to influence performance across the division.
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering the divisional strategy, while leading and developing a high-performing finance team within an evolving structure.
Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Contribution: Partner with the Finance Director to shape and deliver divisional strategy and business plans
* Financial Oversight: Take ownership of the finance function, including month-end close, management accounts, and forecasting across P&L and Balance Sheet
* Performance Insight: Provide clear and actionable analysis of actuals versus forecast to support data-driven decision-making
* Commercial Collaboration: Work closely with Commercial and Operations teams to support bids, contract performance, and overall business outcomes
* Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships across the business, offering both support and constructive challenge to senior stakeholders
* Team Leadership: Lead, develop, and mentor a finance team of circa 8 (including 2 direct reports), promoting a culture of continuous improvement
* Controls & Governance: Ensure robust financial controls, compliance, and reporting standards are maintained
* Matrix Environment: Act as a key link between divisional finance and group within a matrix structure
* Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance processes, systems, and reporting
Candidate Profile
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
* Currently operating as a Senior Finance Manager (or similar), ready to step into a Head of Finance role
* Experience within a divisional or group finance structure, ideally in a larger or complex organisation
* Strong technical expertise across financial reporting, controls, and forecasting
* Commercially minded with the ability to influence and challenge stakeholders
* Proven leadership experience with a focus on team development and engagement
* Adaptable and resilient, comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment
* Experience working within a matrix structure is advantageous
* Willingness to undertake occasional site visits
Salary & Benefits
* £85,000 – £90,000 base salary
