Branch Manager – Building Materials DistributionLocation: NewburySalary: £50,000 – £60,000 + BenefitsHours: 44.5 per week | Mon–Fri 07:30–17:00 | Alternate Saturdays 08:00–12:00We’re working in partnership with a leading name in the building materials sector to recruit a dynamic and commercially focused Branch Manager for their Newbury location.This is a key leadership role within a well-established branch, requiring a hands-on manager who can lead from the front, re-energise the team, and embed a strong sales-led culture. With full operational and P&L responsibility, you’ll be given the autonomy to shape the branch’s performance, customer relationships, and future growth.Duties
* Take ownership of the overall performance of the branch across sales, operations, and logistics.
* Re-establish and drive a proactive, customer-first sales culture—coaching and motivating the team.
* Provide strong leadership to staff across sales, warehouse, and driver teams.
* Maintain high standards of H&S, compliance, and operational efficiency.
* Build strong, lasting relationships with trade customers, contractors, and key accounts.
* Deliver on commercial targets, including margin improvement, budget management, and P&L control.
The Candidate
* You’ll have proven experience as a Branch Manager or Operations Manager within the building materials, merchanting, or construction distribution space.
* A confident, commercially minded leader, comfortable with budget and P&L responsibility.
* You thrive in sales-driven environments and know how to inspire performance and accountability.
* Exceptional organisational and people management skills.
* Knowledge of building products or construction materials is highly desirable.
