Job Purpose

The Senior CRM Data Manager plays a critical operational role in turning data governance strategy into practical, day to day execution across the Salesforce CRM ecosystem. Reporting to the Head of Data Governance, this role ensures that high quality, compliant, and well managed data underpins all commercial activity across Sales, Marketing, Customer Experience, and Pricing.

Acting as the operational lead for CRM data governance, the Senior CRM Data Manager defines and embeds data standards, resolves data quality issues, and supports business teams in adopting best practice data behaviours. This role directly influences the effectiveness of CRM data, enabling better decision making, improved customer engagement, and stronger commercial performance.


Key Accountabilities


Operational Implementation of Data Governance

* Define and maintain CRM data standards, including definitions, usage rules, and training materials.
* Deliver training and guidance to improve data literacy and ensure consistent adoption of governance practices.
* Partner with business stakeholders to embed governance into daily operations across Sales, Marketing, Customer Experience, and Pricing.
* Support data owners in understanding responsibilities and using Salesforce in line with governance policies.


Data Quality & Issue Resolution

* Monitor key CRM data quality indicators (accuracy, completeness, duplication).
* Lead cross functional efforts to resolve data quality issues and drive long term fixes.
* Conduct root cause analysis of recurring issues and collaborate with CRM product teams on solutions.
* Act as the first point of contact for CRM data governance queries.


Compliance & Strategy Enablement

* Ensure Salesforce data practices comply with GDPR, PECR, and internal data protection standards.
* Maintain audit ready documentation and evidence of governance activities.
* Provide operational feedback to the Head of Data Governance to refine strategy and improve execution.


Driving Continuous Improvement

* Review and refine governance practices based on user feedback, audits, and evolving business needs.
* Track and report on governance effectiveness using defined KPIs.
* Identify opportunities for automation or simplification of governance processes.


Alignment & Change Governance

* Work with CRM Product Owners and the Head of CRM Development & Delivery to integrate governance into change processes.
* Review proposed Salesforce data model or workflow changes for compliance with governance standards.
* Ensure governance documentation remains aligned with evolving CRM configurations.

Works cross functionally with data owners, business leaders, and CRM users to embed data standards, improve data quality, and build organisational capability.

Ensures CRM data practices support regulatory compliance and enable accurate, reliable customer communications and reporting.


Technical Ecosystem

Primary focus on Salesforce CRM, with awareness of connected platforms such as Vistex, marketing automation tools, and reporting systems. Collaborates closely with technical teams but does not own system configuration.


Experience & Qualifications


Essential

1. Proven operational experience implementing data governance frameworks in a business facing or CRM environment.
2. Strong understanding of Salesforce CRM data structures and commercial data domains (accounts, contacts, leads, opportunities, etc.).
3. Detail oriented, with the ability to define standards, resolve data issues, and support governance activities day to day.
4. Clear and confident communicator, able to work effectively with both technical and non technical stakeholders.
5. Familiarity with GDPR, PECR, and data privacy governance principles.


Desirable

1. Experience supporting business embedded roles in data governance implementation.
2. Exposure to metadata management, data lineage, or policy documentation tools.
3. Experience delivering training or enablement materials to improve data literacy.
4. Knowledge of data quality frameworks and their application to CRM or marketing data.
5. Experience contributing to change governance processes, including reviewing data model changes.
6. Ability to identify and implement process improvements or automation opportunities.
