Our principal consultant Robin Thomas is keen to discuss a great opportunity open to Services Engineers with a strong workshop background, to join a UK-based manufacturer of precision-engineered pumps and associated systems, serving customers worldwide. Our ideal candidate is a fully qualified engineer with pump mechanical knowledge or experience.

Joining as a Service Engineer, you'll oversee and manage all planned and reactive maintenance for rotating equipment, including dismantling, inspection, reporting, assembly, and testing. The role is predominantly field-based, with up to a third of your time in the Belfast Service Centre. Your field work will include installation, commissioning, failure investigation, and fire set servicing across NI and ROI.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Servicing, installation & commissioning of rotating equipment such as Pumps, Gearboxes, Diesel Engines, Turbines & Fans
* Fault finding during workshop or site attendance
* Interpreting engineering drawings and maintenance manuals for OEM & non-OEM equipment
* Using specialist knowledge and tools to conduct inspections and testing
* Preparing detailed reports on condition, inspections, and updates
* Collaborating with Project Engineers, Quality, Sales, and clients to resolve issues
* Rebuilding equipment according to work scope
* Supporting the onshore Field Service team and occasionally offshore teams
* Representing the company professionally and promoting brand values
* Sharing best practices and supporting other service centres
* Managing working parties during shutdowns
* Communicating with clients during workshop visits
* Contributing to department KPIs
Minimum Qualifications & Skills
* Time-served Craft apprenticeship or relevant qualification (SVQ/NVQ Level 3 or 4, A-Level, HNC, or equivalent)
* Strong workshop background with aftermarket service experience for pumps, valves, compressors, and other rotating equipment
* Extensive knowledge of non-OEM rotating equipment
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
* Full UK driving license
Desired Skills & Experience (training available if absent)
* Understanding of electrical circuits and schematic drawings
* Knowledge of low and medium voltage industrial control panels
* Experience in diesel engine servicing and repair
