Salary: Up to £46,000 depending on experience
Hybrid working: 3 days onsite, 2 days from home (4.5 day working week, half day Fridays)

As part of the Group Manufacturing Services Division (GMSD) the Purchasing Department identifies and manages the procurement of parts and services contributing to the full manufacturing service of our proprietary products. This is a growing global function with new and exciting requirements and challenges. The candidate will be part of the Supply Chain Development (SCD) team in a fast-paced environment based at our New Mills Headquarters site in Gloucestershire with opportunities to be involved in a wide range of products, commodities, and suppliers from around the world.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as a Senior Buyer supporting New Product Introduction within the SCD team. We are looking for a commercially savvy, enthusiastic, and driven individual to support the sourcing of a diverse portfolio of new products to the highest quality and best value, whilst also considering risk, compliance, and sustainability. As an experienced Senior buyer in this field, you will have at least 2 years' experience of managing and developing supply chains within a technical manufacturing environment. You will have effective communication skills and have the independent ability to analyse data, plan, and execute negotiations to meet the objectives of the business.
Responsibilities
Early engagement with design engineers and project managers to gain an understanding of the technical and commercial requirements for new component sourcing.
Development of sourcing strategies, identification and management of risks and mitigations in support of new product manufacturing strategies and project status milestones.
Development of robust, sustainable, and regulatory complaint supply chains for new products, including full management and completion of supplier approval processes.
Identifying and understanding cost drivers at the early stages of supplier selection, to deliver cost reduction opportunities, whilst negotiating terms and conditions to achieve best price and quality.
Effective management and control of supplier and stakeholder relationships.
Responsible for the scoping and implementation of Supplier Contracts.
Liaise both internally and externally to support resolution of quality and supply related issues and problems.
Key requirements
Minimum 2 years' procurement experience in a technical manufacturing environment, demonstrating a strategic and risk-based approach to supplier and stakeholder relationship development and management.
Proven track record of successful supplier negotiations that support organisational targets and cost‑reduction initiatives.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both internally and externally.
Demonstrate commitment high standard of ethics and integrity within a challenging environment.
Commercial acumen with the ability to analyse data and make informed decisions.
Degree, CIPS qualifications, completed Modern Apprenticeship or demonstrable time served.
Experienced in MRP/ERP, Microsoft Office, Excel and Word.
Full driving licence.
Desirable requirements
A broad knowledge of supplier manufacturing processes across various sectors would be an advantage.
Experience of MRP/ERP and Stock Control processes will be a distinct advantage, although training will be provided to the right candidate.
