and main responsibilities
To provide high quality emergency care, being competent in the normal range of emergency medical conditions and injuries.
Direct clinical care will consist of scheduled shifts for the routine assessment and treatment of patients that present to the Emergency Department.
Take part in the middle tier rota, covering 24 hours, seven days a week.
Undertake professional development and participate in audit, ensuring all clinical governance areas are met.

Experience
Essential criteria
1. At least 4 years of postgraduate training, including relevant posts in Emergency Medicine
2. A minimum of 2 years of recent experience working in an Emergency Department
3. IAC completed/ significant anaesthetic experience
4. Intensive care experience (4-6 months minimum)
5. Demonstrated successful completion of Foundation competencies or equivalent.
6. Involvement in audit and teaching activities.
7. Competence in independently managing minor injuries.
8. Significant experience in Emergency Medicine, equivalent to ST4+ level (not ST3 or below)
Desirable criteria
9. ATLS, APLS, or ALS instructor status
10. MRCEM or equivalent qualification
11. Participation in research or simulation activities
Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria
12. Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a license to practice.
13. MBBS or an equivalent medical degree
14. A minimum of two life support courses, up to date (ALS/ACLS, ATLS/ETC, APLS/EPLS).
15. Membership of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (MRCEM).
Desirable criteria
16. Fellowship of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (FRCEM
17. Level 1 Ultrasound (USS) competency.
18. All 3 life support courses, up to date (ALS/ACLS, ATLS/ETC, APLS/EPLS).
