Salary: £28,000 £32,000 per year + Benefits

The Job
As a Functional Skills Tutor (Maths & English), you will play a key role in supporting learners through their apprenticeships, ensuring they achieve essential skills in English and Maths. Your responsibilities will include:
* Planning, delivering, and teaching engaging Functional Skills sessions (online and face-to-face)
* Completing diagnostic assessments and creating learning plans tailored to individual needs
* Embedding Functional Skills into apprenticeship programmes, particularly within the construction sector
* Monitoring learner progress, providing feedback, and supporting achievement of learning goals
* Preparing learners for exams through mock assessments and constructive feedback
* Maintaining accurate learner records and ensuring compliance with awarding body requirements
* Working closely with instructors to embed English and Maths into wider programme delivery
* Ensuring safeguarding and promoting a safe learning environment for all learners
Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and motivated tutor with:
* A recognised teaching qualification (CTLLS or above)
* Experience teaching English and Maths Functional Skills (ideally up to Level 2)
* Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage diverse learners
* Good IT skills and experience with diagnostic assessments and progress monitoring
* Knowledge of safeguarding, Prevent, and equality and diversity requirements
* A proactive, organised approach and the ability to manage time effectively
* A full, clean driving licence and enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain) Experience teaching within construction apprenticeships would be advantageous.
