Female Support Worker Pay rate: Sunday Evening £16.00 per hour
Shift pattern: 14 hour contract - Sunday Waking Night shift - 18:00pm - 8:00am.
We are looking for a compassionate, dependable, and enthusiastic female support worker to join a dedicated home care team, providing support to a bright, playful, and engaging non-verbal child with complex health needs, living with their father in Gainsborough.
This wonderful child lives with a neuromuscular condition (Congenital Myotonic Dystrophy) and requires full-time ventilatory support via a tracheostomy. They are also PEG-fed and use a wheelchair when out in the community. While they cannot mobilise, they are quick to shuffle around independently and love to play and interact with those around them.
Interaction and play are a vital part of each shift. The family places high value on building strong, joyful relationships with support workers who are attentive, engaging, and comfortable being hands-on in play and communication.
The household also includes pet rabbits, so applicants must be comfortable working in a home with animals.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing one-to-one care, including tracheostomy and ventilator support (training provided)
Supporting PEG feeding and associated routines
Engaging in interactive play and sensory activities
Being prepared to act calmly and effectively in emergency situations
Communicating clearly with the family and emergency services if needed
Supporting community outings and appointments
Respecting the childs needs and preferences at all times
Candidate Requirements:
Female applicants only
Full UK drivers license is beneficial due to location/public transport
Experience with complex medical needs is ideal but not essential full training will be provided
Must have excellent written and spoken English to ensure clear communication with the family and healthcare professionals
A warm, patient, and playful personality
Confident in handling emergency situations
Just as important is your ability to stay calm under pressure, communicate clearly, and build positive, trusting relationships.
