With depots in Avonmouth, Cardiff, Gloucester, Stonehouse and Tewkesbury we operate predominately across the South-West of England. We specialise in Construction, Waste Management, Plant Hire, Demolition and Transport operations.
We are currently seeking an experienced tyre fitter to join our Transport workshop. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years working in a workshop with tyres.
Hours: 7am-5pm Monday to Friday. Option for overtime to be discussed at interview.
Hourly rate: £14-£16 per hour dependent on experience
Responsibilities for the job role:
* Inspecting HGV tyres for wear, damage, pressure, and compliance with legal standards.
* Removing and fitting tyres using appropriate tools and machinery.
* Repairing punctures, balancing wheels, and rotating tyres as necessary.
* Recording tyre inspections, repairs, and replacements accurately in maintenance records.
* Responding to roadside breakdowns and carrying out tyre repairs or replacements safely.
* Ensuring stock levels of tyres, valves, and consumables are maintained.
* Using torque wrenches to manufacturer specifications.
* Working in line with health & safety regulations, ensuring all activities are carried out safely.
* Supporting the workshop team with other mechanical or maintenance tasks as required.
* Reporting recurring tyre defects or vehicle issues to supervisors.
