Located on the western fringe of Carlisle, Morton Academy is a popular, oversubscribed 11-16 school with a shared sixth form located on the site of its sister academy Central. The state-of-the-art school sits at the heart of its community and is proud to be the school of choice in the local area. Morton Academy has undergone significant improvement since joining United Learning in 2014. The academy has a good proportion of students achieving well at GCSE and is recognised for very good behaviour standards, excellent pastoral care and a deep commitment to keeping students safe. The academy’s mission is to have its students “Made in Morton” but ready to take their place in the world. The staff, known as Team Morton, are deeply committed to improving the life chances of the students who attend Morton Academy. Role
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Food Technician to help support our teaching staff with a wide variety of practical tasks associated with food preparation and nutrition.
Responsibilities

Qualifications
* Experience working in an educational environment (desirable).
* Qualification in food, nutrition or cookery (desirable).
Requirements
* Applicants must be committed to working directly with young people and maintaining the health and safety of students and staff.
* The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire our students and staff.
* The post is temporary until Easter 2026.
