Avencia are partnered with a leading insurer who are investing in the growth of their Financial Lines division and are looking to recruit a Development Underwriter. This role will focus on expanding a Financial Lines portfolio across Professional Indemnity, D&O, Technology and other specialist risks. You will work closely with broker partners to develop new business opportunities and support profitable growth across an established regional market. Key responsibilities Underwrite and convert new business across complex Professional and Management risksBuild and maintain strong relationships with broker partnersConduct broker meetings and represent the business at market eventsMaintain accurate pipeline and activity records within internal systemsIdentify regional growth opportunities and collaborate with internal teams to deliver outcomesSupport colleagues and contribute to a consistent underwriting approach across the teamProvide insight to support development of the wider Financial Lines proposition Skills & experience Experience underwriting within Financial Lines or Professional IndemnityA track record of developing broker relationships and generating new businessStrong commercial judgement, negotiation and trading skillsConfident communication and stakeholder management abilityHigh level of professionalism and attention to detailProgress towards DIP CII / ACII (or qualified) preferredMotivated and proactive approach to portfolio growth
