An opportunity has arisen for an organised, efficient, and enthusiastic individual to join the established CAMHS East team, in HPFT CAMHS for a 1‑year secondment. The CAMHS East team offer a range of specialist evidence‑based therapeutic interventions for young people and their families who are presenting with moderate to severe mental health problems. The postholder would work in a friendly and busy clinical team, ideal for an individual with general administrative and secretarial skills. The role requires a considerable degree of initiative, mature judgement, and a friendly, efficient manner when dealing with service users, relatives, colleagues and visitors. A good level of competency in using Microsoft Office and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining a calm, professional approach is required. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a team, are essential. Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive, professional and effective secretarial and administrative support to the CAMHS East team and support Consultant Psychiatrists.
* Audio‑typing of letters, reports and other documents.
* Book appointments, answer the telephone, take messages and pass relevant queries to the staff team.
* Manage the team referral inbox, organise room bookings and send out agendas.
* Take writing meeting minutes and follow‑up on action points.
* Update individual patient records and carry out general administrative duties to ensure smooth clinic operation.
* Maintain confidentiality, apply initiative and work independently, adhering to Trust policies and procedures.
Qualifications
* Significant secretarial experience, preferably within an NHS or healthcare environment.
* Audio‑typing and competent use of Windows and Word.
* Good general education.
* Good organisational and time‑management skills.
* Strong numeracy skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Good knowledge of IT and Windows applications.
* Well presented with good interpersonal skills; flexible, collaborative attitude towards duties and responsibilities.
* Experience with medical terminology and understanding of health record functions.
* Proficiency with ECDL and medical secretary qualification (desirable).
* Experience with ePEX, databases and knowledge of health records function (desirable).
* Ability to hold a Skilled Worker visa or meet UK citizenship/visa requirements (if applicable).
