The role
As the Fire Safety Manager, working for the Principal Fire Safety Manager, you will be responsible for ensuing Stansted Airport complies with all applicable fire safety legislation and the requirements of the MAG Fire Safety Framework Standard. You’ll develop, manage, and ensure compliance with the Stansted Airport Fire Safety Management Plan and work with STAL departments, concessionaires and occupiers/third parties to ensure they are compliant. Where required, you’ll also work with and alongside the MAG Principle Fire Safety Engineer as well as support for the group Fire Safety & Resilience function for the provision of fire safety designs and advice, in respect to fire safety measures, whilst supporting with MAG Fire Policy development to ensure legal compliance is achieved and the development of Stansted Airport Fire Safety standards are developed, deployed, embedded, and assured.
What will make you successful in the role?
We are looking for a proactive and well-established Fire Safety professional with a minimum of 2-years’ experience working in a large operational environment. You will have a Level 4 qualification in Fire Safety Management and have working knowledge of BS9997 and BS9999. Demonstratable evidence and ongoing CPD is a requirement, desirably through either membership of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers or Institute of Fire Engineers. You will also be a strong communicator with the ability to influence at all levels, and you’ll have excellent attention to detail with the ability to analyse information and determine effective solutions. This is a busy role in a large operational environment, so it is essential you are able to effectively prioritise and meet demands when working under pressure.
