Children in Care Social Worker

The Role
Blackburn with Darwen Children’s Services is looking for an experienced Social Worker to join our Children in Our Care (CIOC) service. This is a chance to act as an aspirational corporate parent for children living with parents, relatives, foster carers, or in residential settings.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake high-quality assessments and develop outcome-focused Care and Pathway Plans.
* Work collaboratively with partner agencies including Health, Education, CAMHS, and the regional adoption agency.
* Promote safety, stability, and permanence for care-experienced young people.
* Ensure children are safeguarded through timely intervention and robust permanency planning.
* Advocate for children’s holistic needs and promote their overall wellbeing.
* Participate in reflective supervision and contribute to a culture of professional curiosity and innovation.
Requirements
* Proven experience within a CIOC or Looked After Children (LAC) team.
* Strong skills in writing Pathway Plans and promoting positive outcomes for care leavers.
* Ability to work effectively with Independent Reviewing Officers and foster carers.
* Active Social Work England registration and a relevant social work degree.
