Role Overview
A major UK infrastructure and construction organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Planner to support large-scale infrastructure projects across Scotland. Opportunities are available in both live project delivery and pre-construction/tender planning environments. Some travel or temporary work away from home may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Delivery
* Develop, maintain and manage construction programmes in line with contract requirements.
* Produce progress updates, programme revisions and reporting documentation.
* Coordinate construction sequencing, methodologies and programme logic with operational teams.
* Prepare stage programmes and planning documentation for stakeholder review.
* Support project controls through labour, plant and material reconciliation.
* Contribute to safe, efficient and timely project delivery.
Tender & Pre-Construction Planning
* Support bid and planning teams during tender submissions.
* Identify project scope, risks, constraints and contract requirements.
* Develop construction methodologies, sequencing and temporary works strategies.
* Liaise with supply chain partners and third parties to develop proposals.
* Produce tender programmes, planning reports and presentation materials.
* Present planning strategies to senior stakeholders and management teams.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
* Previous operational experience in civil engineering or construction delivery roles.
* Strong planning experience on small to medium-sized infrastructure projects.
* Knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, plant, labour and resource planning.
* Experience using planning software such as Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject or Microsoft Project.
* Understanding of project controls, progress monitoring, risk management and delay analysis.
* Familiarity with contract documentation, ideally including NEC contracts.
* Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
