Job Description
Senior Electrical Design Engineer - Building Services
Location: Croydon
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 plus DOE
A leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy, delivering innovative and sustainable building services solutions, is looking to hire an experienced and dedicated Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their team in London.
Responsibilities
* Lead the electrical design on a range of building services projects
* Produce detailed electrical designs including calculations, drawings, and specifications
* Undertake site surveys and attend client meetings and design workshops
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
* Ensure compliance with industry standards, building regulations, and sustainability goals
* Coordinate with other disciplines (mechanical, structural, etc.) for integrated designs
* Support project delivery to agreed timelines and budgets
* Contribute to the development of internal design standards and best practices
Requirements
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services (or equivalent)
* Chartered Engineer status or working towards (e.g. CEng, MIET, MCIBSE)
* Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical building services design
* Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671), and relevant standards
* Proficiency in software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux/Relux, and Amtech
* Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills
* A passion for sustainable design and innovation
