Overview
We are seeking a friendly and motivated Farm Shop & Taproom Assistant to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage with customers, support daily operations, and promote our locally produced products. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a vibrant environment that celebrates farm life and craft beverages, providing excellent service to visitors and customers alike. This position is 9am-5pm on Saturday & Sunday, with additional Friday evening shifts on an ad-hoc basis. The farm is located outside of Cowfold Village, with limited links to public transport.
Duties
* Greet customers warmly and provide information about our farm shop products and taproom offerings
* Assist with the organisation and restocking of the farm shop, ensuring shelves are tidy and well-presented
* Serve beverages and light refreshments in the taproom, maintaining high standards of service
* Handle sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of both the farm shop and taproom areas
* Support with events or special promotions as required
* Provide friendly advice on products, including local produce, craft beers, ciders, or other beverages
* Assist in managing stock levels and placing orders when necessary
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Experience
* Previous experience in retail, hospitality, or customer service is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
* A passion for local produce, craft beverages, or farm life is desirable
* Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour are essential for engaging with visitors and customers
* Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
* Basic organisational skills to manage stock levels and maintain a clean workspace
