Deputy Children's Home Manager (Therapeutic) Kendal
Location: Kendal (LA9)
Salary: £35,631.96 - £37,112.40 per annum (£17.57 - £18.30 per hour)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm
About the Role:
We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Deputy Manager to join a therapeutic residential children's home in Kendal, supporting children aged 6-12 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
This is a unique opportunity to join a small, supportive team committed to delivering outstanding care in a therapeutic environment. The home provides a nurturing, structured setting to help children build trust, develop life skills, and work through emotional challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home
* Lead and motivate the care team to deliver high-quality, child-centred therapeutic care
* Contribute to care planning and risk assessments in line with the needs of each individual child
* Provide leadership, supervision, and coaching to the staff team
* Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and standards of care
* Maintain a safe and supportive environment where children can thrive emotionally, physically, and socially
Requirements:
* NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) essential
* Minimum 1 year experience at Senior or Team Leader level within a residential childcare setting
* Previous experience as a Deputy Manager is preferred but not essential
* A genuine passion for supporting children with EBD in a therapeutic setting
* Full UK driving licence essential
* Must be aged 21+ (in line with children's residential care regulations)
* Must have the right to work in the UK
