Job Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 School Nurse to join the School Nurse Single Point of Access (SPoA) (0‑19 Service).
As a school nurse working within the SPoA you will work within a small team to manage and co‑ordinate the day‑to‑day referrals into the service, triage referrals, manage telephone calls and support safeguarding, including attending safeguarding meetings.
NMC registration is required. The position is part‑time, 18.75 hours per week all year round.
Key Responsibilities
* Triage and manage referrals into the School Nursing Service within an agreed timeframe and forward onto teams as required.
* Support with health care plans.
* Manage the Paediatric Sleep Pathway with initial assessment and support with sleep diaries.
* Support the ChatHealth Service.
* Support the Families First for Children Pathfinder Programme (FFCP) with attendance at meetings and contribute to reports and information requests.
* Coordinate movements in and out.
* Signpost families to appropriate services.
* Provide health promotion and parenting advice and support.
Qualifications and Requirements
• NMC registration (required)
• Experience in school nursing or paediatric care (preferred)
• Strong organisational and triage skills
• Excellent communication and safeguarding awareness
• Ability to work flexibly within a team setting
