Overview

The Environment Agency’s Transformation Portfolio Management Office (PMO) is creating a centralised portfolio to drive change, transformation, and continuous improvement. We’re looking for two Benefits and Efficiencies Analysts to join the team.

The PMO helps shape and optimise project Portfolios, ensure strategic alignment, enhance decision-making, and provide evidence to manage risk across change and transformation. This role offers hands-on experience in change and transformation with development opportunities and strong support from the team.

You will analyse data from PMO colleagues and project/programme managers across the portfolio, help set the standards for benefits and value management, and assist in embedding them. You will help teams identify, value, and validate their project benefits.

The PMO is part of the Transformation Team within the STA (Strategy, Transformation and Assurance) directorate. STA fosters inclusive, supportive cultures and uses evidence and innovation to influence policy and delivery.


Responsibilities

* Analyse data from PMO colleagues and project/programme managers to set standards for benefits and value management and embed them across the portfolio.
* Help teams identify, value, and validate project benefits.
* Support change, transformation and continuous improvement activities across the business.
* Collaborate with stakeholders across organisational boundaries to build constructive relationships and effective dashboards and reporting tools.


Experience and qualifications

* Strong analytical skills with proven experience as a Benefits Analyst, Efficiencies Analyst, or Business Analyst.
* Proven experience building and maintaining dashboards or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or advanced Excel).
* Ability to work collaboratively across organisational boundaries and build constructive relationships.
* Clear communication skills to explain complex analysis to non-technical audiences.
* Self-motivation and adaptability; capable of working independently and as part of a team.
* Experience producing guidance, toolkits, or frameworks to support colleagues.
* Commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds; actively consider diversity issues in work.


Additional information

* You’ll have an EA Office base location; as a national role, the working location is hybrid. Some travel and overnights may be required.
