Location: Newcastle base. Contract type: Attachment, Full-time / Fixed-term until 27 February 2026. Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience.
Responsibilities
* Shoot/edit crew – gather footage for news stories using news camera equipment and edit in the field, working with editorial colleagues to provide strong news coverage.
* News editing – in the newsroom, compile footage into complete stories for broadcast and online, requiring a creative eye for high-quality packages.
* Gallery skills – operate in busy news programmes, work in studio and technical galleries to get live programmes to air; operate lighting equipment, automated systems and studio cameras.
Essential Criteria
* Location / News camera operations – gather footage for use across outlets
* Editing of news packages – produce content under tight deadlines for local programmes
* Media management – ingest footage and manage content for TV, online and radio outlets
Desirable but Not Required
* Graphic design skills – create news content for TV and online
* News bulletin directing – operate automated gallery systems to direct TV bulletins
* Technical management – lighting and camera control for a live studio
