About the Role
We are seeking a committed Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist primary setting in Sunderland that supports pupils with special educational needs. You’ll play a vital role helping pupils access learning, supporting their social, emotional and academic development, and working closely with teachers and therapists to deliver tailored support.

Key Responsibilities
* Assist class teacher in planning/delivering differentiated learning activities
* Support pupils’ communication and interaction needs; use of visual aids / alternative communication methods as required
* Help pupils with personal care, where needed, maintaining dignity and promoting independence
* Monitor and contribute to students’ progress, providing feedback and observations
* Support pupils in small group work and one-to-one interventions

Person Specification
* Prior experience supporting children with SEND or in similar roles preferred
* Patient, empathetic, reliable and caring nature
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal
* Flexible, adaptable, able to respond to changing pupil needs
* Willingness to undergo training and follow safeguarding procedures

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
