Job Summary
We are recruiting an experienced Gateman to join our Building division on an initial 12-month fixed term contract (with potential to extend). As a Gateman, you will execute instructions from the Site Management Team to ensure project delivery aligns with quality, timelines, and safety standards.
Please note: This role may require flexible working hours and arrangements.
Job Description
Duties may include:
* Ensuring all persons arriving on site sign in & out of the site compound
* Recording and logging all lorry movements on/off site
* Maintaining site cleanliness and general housekeeping within the site compound and entrance, including litter picking
* Recording all deliveries, ensuring they are safely offloaded and stored, then notifying the relevant personnel
* Cleaning lorry wheels when leaving the site daily, involving physical labour
* Keeping the outside area of the site boundary pristine
* Collecting materials from suppliers (driving license/experience required)
* Managing the site store, organizing stock, and maintaining accurate records
* Maintaining parking areas to uphold a positive public perception
* Fostering good relationships with stakeholders and behaving professionally
* Performing all duties reliably and flexibly

Technical Competencies
Essential:
* Strong motivation for the role
* Ability to work independently
* Excellent communication skills and flexible working hours
* Valid CSR Card (desirable)
* Basic knowledge of construction and maintenance works
* Good administrative skills and understanding of paperwork importance
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Vehicle marshalling/banksman training
