Overview
First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with a company seeking a Facilities Maintenance Engineer at their Helston (Cornwall) depot. This role involves working alongside the military on an active Military Airfield, supporting and maintaining a legal and functional environment for future military pilots, in collaboration with Tri Service personnel, civil servants, and contractors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Lead delivery of all hard facilities management services and contract outputs.
* Ensure legal compliance of building systems including Heating and Ventilation, F Gas, Lifts, Industrial Doors, Water Systems, Chiller Plant, Pressure systems, Alarm systems, Fixed Electrical systems, Lighting Systems.
* Produce maintenance reports and keep records updated.
* Implement safe systems of work and manage supply chains to meet safety standards.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Recognised engineering qualifications (mechanical or electrical), City & Guilds or equivalent, such as:
* Heating and Ventilation Level 2 & 3 NVQ Diplomas
* Electrical Level 2 & 3 NVQ Diplomas
* Plumbing and Domestic Heating Level 2 & 3 Diplomas
* H&S training (e.g., IOSH)
* Full UK Manual Driving License (with on-call vehicle or fuel allowance)
* IT literacy (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel)
* Understanding of H&S procedures
* Excellent communication and client liaison skills
Additional Details:
Location: Helston, Cornwall
Salary: £33,600 + Call-out allowance (£3,206pa) + Overtime
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends and call-outs (paid additionally)
