About the Role
Are you passionate about working with data and using it to improve processes and decision-making in a dynamic higher education environment? We are seeking a highly motivated and inquisitive Student Data Analyst to join our Student Data Management (SDM) team.
Working closely with the Student Data and Returns Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of student data across University systems. Your responsibilities will include maintaining and validating datasets and supporting statutory reporting (e.g., HESA, HESES, HEE). Your analytical mindset and attention to detail will contribute directly to the University’s ongoing transformation and commitment to excellence.
About You
You will have strong analytical skills and a keen eye for accuracy. You are confident working with large datasets using systems such as Excel, and ideally have experience with a student records system like SITS.
You are methodical, proactive, and not afraid to ask questions to resolve issues. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential as you will work with colleagues across departments and external stakeholders.
Your professionalism and commitment to high-quality service will ensure data is managed responsibly and confidentially, in line with regulatory and University requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the maintenance, entry, and validation of student data in University systems.
* Assist with preparing internal and external reports, including statutory returns.
* Engage with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and communicate data insights.
* Provide administrative support for student data processes such as enrolment, graduation, and clearing.
* Contribute to documentation, process improvements, and performance reporting.
* Uphold data protection and compliance obligations (e.g., GDPR, Prevent).
