Join our specialist Critical Care team at one of the UK's most prestigious independent hospitals. We're looking for a capable and clinically confident Intensive Care Fellow to help us deliver outstanding care to a diverse group of high-acuity patients in a complex and fast-paced ICU setting.

The London Clinic is a leading private hospital with a reputation for clinical excellence and personalised care. We're located in the heart of Marylebone, with eight sites across central London. Our main hospital includes advanced theatres, modern diagnostic facilities and one of the most sophisticated intensive care units in the independent sector.
We care for a wide range of complex surgical and medical patients, including oncology, gastrointestinal, and orthopaedic cases. Our ICU is consultant-led and nurse-intensive, supported by experienced fellows and a specialist outreach team. You'll be joining a high-functioning department that places safety, compassion and teamwork at the centre of everything we do.
Location: The London Clinic, 20 Devonshire Place, Marylebone, London
Contract: Fixed-Term (24 months), Full-time
Hours: 44 hours per week

About the Role
As an Intensive Care Fellow, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day medical care of critically ill patients, working alongside our ICU consultants and senior nursing staff. You'll assess deteriorating patients across the hospital, support emergency calls, and ensure continuity of care during your shifts.
Key responsibilities include:
* Reviewing ICU patients at least three times daily and attending consultant-led rounds
* Leading the emergency medical response for deteriorating or at-risk patients across the hospital
* Acting as second responder to cardiac arrest calls (the crash bleep is held by the RMO)
* Supporting the Outreach team and facilitating safe patient transfers
* Providing support to clinical assistants and nursing teams on wards
* Maintaining accurate documentation and contributing to clinical audits, morbidity reviews and local guidelines
* Assisting with anaesthetics and emergency care in theatre where appropriate to your skillset
* Actively participating in clinical governance, handovers, and medical teaching
Skills and Experience:
We're looking for a confident ICU doctor who is committed to excellence in acute care, with the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
* Full GMC registration and MBBS (or equivalent)
* Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience, including:
* 12 months in intensive care
* 6 months in anaesthetics or proven airway management competencies
* ALS certification (PILS/APLS is desirable)
* Strong skills in intubation, line insertion, emergency airway management, and mechanical ventilation
* Excellent communication, clinical judgement and organisational skills
* FRCA/MRCP
* Qualification in care of the critically ill
* Experience in isolated site anaesthesia or inter-hospital transfer
* Involvement in clinical research or publication
