The Role and Key Responsibilities
Working under the direction of the Head of English, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Curriculum Delivery: Planning and delivering engaging lessons that foster a deep love of literature and language.
* Student Progress: Monitoring and tracking pupil attainment, providing constructive feedback that drives measurable academic progress.
* Classroom Culture: Maintaining an orderly, stimulating learning environment that promotes high standards of behaviour and literacy across the curriculum.
* Pastoral Care: Contributing positively to student well-being, fulfilling Form Tutor duties and adhering strictly to safeguarding policies.
* Department Contribution: Actively collaborating on curriculum development and contributing to the wider school enrichment programme.
Essential Requirements
The successful candidate must have:
* The necessary qualifications for this role (QTS or equivalent).
* Experience teaching English to a high standard.
* An enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or a willingness to apply for one.
* The legal right to work in the UK.
