Aspire People are recruiting for a SEMH Teaching Assistant to work with both primary and secondary pupils in B31, starting April 2026. This role is ideal for a skilled, patient, and resilient TA experienced in supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviour.
Key responsibilities:
Supporting pupils with SEMH needs in both primary and secondary settings
Providing 1:1 or small group support for pupils displaying challenging behaviour
Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in learning
Supporting pupils' emotional wellbeing, social skills, and development
Working closely with teachers, SENCO, and support staff to implement tailored strategies
The ideal candidate will:
Have experience working with children with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
Be patient, calm, and resilient under pressure
Have strong communication and teamwork skills
Be confident supporting pupils across primary and secondary phases
Be committed to inclusive education and promoting pupil wellbeing
