A Sales Engineer / Business Development Manager is needed to join Highwire Ltd, a specialist provider of fall protection and height safety solutions based in Dukinfield. This is a high visibility role offering uncapped commission, car allowance and a clear pathway to full target within your first year.
Highwire may have the backing of a corporate parent company, but day to day it feels like a tight knit, straight talking team. The office is relaxed, and energetic so this role would suit someone who is confident and comfortable rolling up their sleeves and getting involved. If you like personality, pace and accountability, you will fit right in.
This is a blended office and field based sales role. You will generate and follow up opportunities from an active project pipeline while also prospecting for new business across targeted industrial sectors. You will attend site surveys, meet customers face to face, interpret drawings and specifications, and produce quotations aligned to relevant design standards.
Alongside winning new projects, you will build repeat business, develop key accounts and protect margins. You will report daily sales activity, forecast performance and attend monthly review meetings to analyse conversion rates and drive continuous improvement. This is a role for someone who enjoys owning their numbers.
To support your ramp up, there is a phased target structure across your first twelve months, building progressively towards full target. Commission is uncapped, paid quarterly and triggered once 75 percent of target is achieved, with rates varying by product and contract type. Strong performers can build a highly attractive overall package.
To qualify, you should be a Sales Engineer, Technical Sales Engineer, Business Development Manager, Technical Sales Consultant or similar with a CV that demonstrates:
* Experience in solution led sales within construction, engineering, safety or a related sector
* The ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
* Confidence generating new business as well as managing existing accounts
* Strong communication and negotiation skills
* A practical mindset with commercial awareness
* Experience using CRM systems and ideally exposure to CAD
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
* Comfort working at height where required
Full product training is provided. While experience in fall protection or height safety is helpful, it is not essential. What matters more is commercial instinct, technical curiosity and the confidence to build relationships in construction and engineering environments.
In return, you can expect a competitive basic salary, car allowance paid monthly, uncapped quarterly commission, corporate gym discounts, hybrid working once probation is complete, and working hours of Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:30 and Friday 08:00 to 16:00, with early finishes often available.
