Our mission is to provide the legal support our clients require in order to achieve anything from their basic needs to their wildest dreams and everything in between. ​ What are we looking for? ​ We are seeking to recruit a Talent Acquisition Executive with strong end-to-end recruitment experience and a proactive approach to talent acquisition, with the ability to quickly understand and operate effectively within a professional services environment. ​ Where will you be based? ​ This role can be based from either our Gosforth or Durham office, but we would expect you to travel and work from other offices from time to time. ​ How many hours will you be working? ​ This is a full-time role of 35 hours per week. EMG Solicitors adopts a flexible approach to working, recognising that flexibility is balanced with service delivery, team collaboration and business requirements, and is agreed in discussion with your Team Leader. ​ A brief overview of the role: ​ As Talent Acquisition Executive, you will take ownership of the full recruitment lifecycle across EMG Solicitors, delivering end-to-end recruitment activity with day-to-day administrative support from the People and Culture Administrator. The role will involve sourcing, attracting and appointing talent across both fee-earning and support functions, ensuring a consistent, professional and efficient recruitment experience. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong relationships, managing multiple recruitment campaigns and delivering high-quality outcomes in a standalone recruitment role. ​ What will we expect from you: ​ Generating work ​ Your work will be driven by planned business growth across all departments, including trainee solicitors, paralegals, qualified solicitors, and support roles. In this role, you will take a proactive approach, building relationships with hiring managers, anticipating resourcing needs, and creating talent pipelines to ensure recruitment is aligned with business priorities rather than purely reactive to vacancies. ​ Undertaking work ​ You should be passionate about providing: ​ Developing and implementing effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent. Utilising a range of recruitment channels, including LinkedIn, job boards, and career fairs, to source candidates. Building and maintaining a talent pipeline to meet current and future hiring needs. Using technology and recruitment systems to streamline processes and improve candidate experience. Building strong, collaborative relationships with hiring managers and candidates. ​ Getting paid for the work you do. ​ Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including drafting job descriptions and advertisements, advertising roles, tracking applications, shortlisting, and candidate screening. Coordinate and oversee the trainee solicitor recruitment process, working closely with the People and Culture Manager throughout the process. Organise and participate in career and graduate events, building EMG Solicitors’ profile as an employer of choice. Provide guidance and support to candidates throughout the recruitment process, ensuring a professional and positive candidate experience. Collaborate with hiring managers to understand current and future staffing needs, providing tailored recruitment advice and solutions. Build and maintain talent pipelines for key roles, anticipating future recruitment needs and reducing reliance on reactive hiring. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and monitor recruitment metrics to inform reporting and planning. Source candidates proactively using a variety of channels, including LinkedIn, professional networks, industry events, and creative outreach. Support employer branding initiatives alongside the Business Development team, contributing to campaigns and communications that enhance EMG’s reputation as an employer of choice. Identify and implement process improvements across recruitment to increase efficiency, consistency, and candidate engagement. Ensure all recruitment activity complies with employment law, equality, diversity and inclusion policies, and internal best practice. To be able to perform this job you will need: ​ Demonstrable experience in recruitment and resourcing, with the ability to work across multiple roles and departments. Understanding of early careers and trainee recruitment, including awareness of structured qualification pathways such as SQE/LPC is desirable. Competence in using recruitment technology, including ATS systems, and confidence in leveraging online and professional networks to identify talent. Strong analytical and organisational skills, able to prioritise work, manage competing demands, and support workforce planning. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, able to engage effectively with managers, candidates, and external partners. A proactive and solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to anticipate recruitment needs and contribute to improving processes. Commitment to delivering a positive candidate and stakeholder experience, reflecting the firm’s professional standards.
