About the Role

As part of our skilled workforce, our roofers play a vital role in maintaining the safety and integrity of homes - carrying out everything from tile replacements and felt repairs to chimney works and emergency callouts. Duties:
1. Carrying out roofing repairs and maintenance across occupied and void properties
2. Repairing and replacing roof tiles, battens, felt roofing, flat roofs, and asphalt systems
3. Completing chimney repairs, lead work, and installation of ridge, verge, and hip tiles
4. Repairing and maintaining guttering, downpipes, fascias, soffits, and barge boards
5. Installing and repairing roof insulation, ventilation systems, rooflights, and skylights
6. Attending emergency call-outs to make properties safe following leaks or storm damage
7. Identifying roofing defects and recommending appropriate remedial works
8. Working with reclaimed roofing materials where appropriate
9. Ensuring all work is completed safely, to a high standard, and in line with regulatory requirements including the Decent Homes Standard
10. Accurately recording materials used and time spent on jobs
11. Liaising with tenants, supervisors, and site teams to minimise disruption and maintain clear communication
12. Supporting planned maintenance and refurbishment programmes
Role Criteria:
13. Previous experience carrying out domestic roofing repairs and maintenance works
14. Experience working on both occupied and void properties
15. Good knowledge of pitched and flat roofing systems, including felt and asphalt roofing
16. Experience completing lead work, chimney repairs, and roofline installations
17. Ability to identify roofing defects and recommend appropriate remedial works
18. Understanding of health and safety regulations within a repairs and maintenance environment
19. Strong communication skills with the ability to work professionally with tenants, colleagues, and site teams
20. Ability to manage workload effectively and maintain accurate job records
21. Full UK driving licence
