Overview
We are seeking an experienced Programme Manager – High Streets and Markets to lead the delivery of one of WMCA’s most visible and impactful regeneration programmes. This is a senior role with responsibility for overseeing the full High Streets and Markets programme portfolio from strategic development through to delivery, assurance and reporting. You will ensure programmes are delivered to time, budget and quality, while managing risk, governance, stakeholder relationships and financial accountability. Reporting to the High Streets and Markets Programme and Engagement Lead, you will be working across the organisation and with external partners and will play a critical role in supporting thriving town and city centres across the West Midlands.
What you will be doing.
* Leading programme delivery and performance across a diverse portfolio of projects
* Managing programme-level risk, assurance, governance and reporting
* Developing regeneration strategies aligned to regional priorities and economic objectives
* Building and managing senior stakeholder relationships in politically sensitive environments
* Overseeing business cases, delivery plans and funding processes
* Managing programme budgets, forecasting and financial compliance
* Providing clear, authoritative briefings to Boards, Government and senior partners
* Commissioning and managing specialist and technical support where required
Essential requirements
* Significant experience delivering large, complex programmes, ideally within regeneration or placemaking
* A proven track record of delivering outcomes at scale
* Strong experience of stakeholder management and partnership working
* Confidence operating in complex, politically led environments
* Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and working across organisational boundaries
* Strong programme governance, risk and financial management capability
* Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills
* A recognised project or programme management qualification or equivalent experience
Location
The location for this role is Summer Lane with at least 2 days a week spent in the office.
