Two Fixed Term Interim Consultants in Public Health Dudley is the heart of the historic Black Country and is an ambitious borough striving to develop resilient and safe communities with high aspirations and the ability to shape their own future. Our successful Public Health and Wellbeing Directorate work with local organisations, politicians, business and communities to deliver public health priorities through strength-based approaches. Dudley is seeking to recruit a full time equivalent Consultant in Public Health on a fixed term contract for a period of 12 months with possibility of extension. This is an exciting time as the Council is implementing a whole Council improvement plan which offers exciting opportunities to embed public health approaches within this plan. We have strong focus on tackling health inequalities, building healthier communities and creating places, services and models of working that strengthen and develop our approach to prevention. Successful candidates can be full, part time or job share and will have a track record of delivery as inspirational public health leaders, agile team players who have applied their high-level skills across their work to enable effective transformation, policy and programme development which embeds a public health approach. This post will lead the Council’s public health services across the life course, including the commissioning and provision of evidence-based and intelligence- led services to protect and improve the health and wellbeing across the life course. S/he will lead the provision of public health support the mobilisation and integration of recently procured Public Health services. They will support improving physical activities and embedding health in all policies. They will provide public health expertise and advise to system alliances influencing the setting of intelligence led priorities to improve health and wellbeing outcomes. They will support community development and community empowerment. Hours: 37 per week or part time/ job - share is considered.
