Role: Project Director – High Voltage (Healthcare / Mission Critical)
Location: Kettering
Salary: £90,000 – £100,000 + Car Allowance + Package
Type: Full-time, Permanent
We’re working with a well-established M&E design & build contractor delivering complex, large-scale projects across the UK and Europe.
They’re now looking to bring in a Project Director with a strong High Voltage background to lead the delivery of a major hospital project in Kettering, with further mission critical and industrial projects lined up straight after.
This is very much a hands-on leadership role, where you’ll take full ownership of delivery on technically demanding HV packages within live or critical environments.
What you’ll be doing
* Leading the end-to-end delivery of a large-scale HV-focused healthcare project
* Taking full responsibility from pre-con, design coordination, construction through to commissioning and handover
* Acting as the senior point of contact for the client, main contractor, and key stakeholders
* Driving programme, quality, and commercial performance across the project
* Managing and supporting a team of Project Managers, Engineers, and site teams
* Overseeing HV installations, including substations, switchgear, and associated infrastructure
* Ensuring works are delivered in line with programme, safety, and technical standards
* Working closely with commercial teams on cost control, variations, and risk management
* Leading progress meetings and providing clear reporting back into senior leadership
* Setting the standard on HSE, RAMS, and overall site governance
What you will bring:
* Proven experience operating at Project Director or Senior Project Manager level
* Strong background delivering High Voltage (HV) packages
* (substations, transformers, switchgear, grid connections etc.)
* Experience within healthcare, data centres, or other mission critical / regulated environments
* Full lifecycle project delivery experience across design & build
* Strong understanding of commissioning and integration of HV systems
* Comfortable leading large teams and interfacing directly with clients and Tier 1 contractors
* Solid commercial awareness across P&L, CVRs, variations, and risk
* Able to operate in a high-pressure, technically complex environment
This will suit you if:
* You’ve delivered large HV packages on complex builds, not just facilities or maintenance
* You’re used to being the lead on site, not just part of the team
* You can deal with clients, push programmes, and make decisions when needed
* You’re comfortable in environments where quality and compliance really matter (healthcare, DCs, pharma etc.)
