Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality food services. The successful candidate will play a vital role in meal preparation, food safety, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in catering and restaurant operations, ideal for individuals passionate about culinary arts and food service. Prior kitchen or catering experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided.
Responsibilities
* Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with established recipes and standards
* Support chefs and kitchen staff in daily operations, including ingredient organisation and stock replenishment
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards by cleaning work surfaces, utensils, and equipment regularly
* Ensure proper food safety procedures are followed at all times, including correct storage and handling of ingredients
* Serve meals to customers or staff in a courteous and professional manner
* Assist with setting up dining areas and clearing tables as required
* Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all team members
Skills
* Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is advantageous
* Knowledge of food preparation techniques and meal assembly processes
* Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
* Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
* Good organisational skills with attention to detail
* Basic serving skills with a friendly and professional manner
* Willingness to learn new skills within the culinary field
