Overview
Band 6, Charge Nurse – Critical Care, Inverclyde Royal Hospital. Permanent – 37 or 34.5 hours per week will be considered. Critical Care on the IRH site includes a mixed High Dependency and Coronary Care Unit with facilities for stabilising patients requiring Intensive Care prior to transfer. Working in IRH Critical Care requires the use of critical care skills and knowledge in providing person centred care to a wide group of patients requiring level 1, 2 and 3 critical care and interventions.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, committed and highly motivated Registered Nurse with critical care experience to join our critical care multidisciplinary team caring for both emergency and elective patients across a variety of medical and surgical specialities. We work in partnership to provide a high level of specialist care pathways and closer nursing observations for critically ill patients.
Responsibilities
Deliver high standards of person centred care to critically ill patients with one or more organ failure requiring organ support and closer nursing observations. Work as part of a senior team to deliver care from admission to discharge from critical care. Tailor nursing approaches to meet the needs of a broad range of individuals and circumstances. Provide clinical cover and lead staff during shifts when required, supporting the Senior Charge Nurse.
Support the multidisciplinary team and contribute to ongoing professional development with the Practice Educator and senior team, benefiting from access to development and quality improvement opportunities.
Qualifications and requirements
* Current registration with the NMC as a Registered Nurse.
* Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience within a critical care environment.
