About the Project
In the initial phase, we are designing and constructing a 15GWh lithium-ion battery manufacturing facility, complete with ancillary buildings and extensive site-wide infrastructure. Once completed, this facility will be one of the largest battery production sites in the UK, capable of supplying half of the country's projected automotive battery needs by the early 2030s.
Your Role: Commercial Manager - Project Controls
We are expanding our commercial team and are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to collaborate closely with our project controls team. Here’s what we’re looking for:
Key Responsibilities
* Commercial Awareness: Recognized CM with a focus on profit and cash.
* Project Experience: Prior experience with CM or PM projects, particularly with NEC contracts.
* Commercial Management: Oversee procurement, tendering, contract administration, and subcontract management.
* Negotiation Skills: Negotiate compensation events while maintaining strong client relationships.
* Issue Resolution: Address payment issues and disallowed costs effectively.
* Deputy Role: Step in for the Project Commercial Director as needed.
* Risk Management: Minimize risk and maximize value through cost analysis.
* Industry Experience: Broad experience across various sectors in commercial roles.
Your Profile
* Proven track record in commercial management for major construction projects.
* Strong client-facing experience with exceptional negotiation and communication skills.
* Expert understanding of contract law, procurement, and financial management.
* Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze complex financial data.
* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field.
* Familiarity with NEC contracts and prior experience in CM or PM roles.
